My name is Mrs. Glenna W. Lashley and I am a Family Nurse Practitioner. I am nationally, board-certified through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and licensed to practice in this State. I have been practicing in Family Medicine since 2010. I am so excited to be starting my very own medical practice in Jasper, Tennessee. I want to invite you and your family to come see what makes us different. I realize the need for someone to offer excellent healthcare in rural and often, under-served areas. Even as a young child, I wanted to work in the field of medicine. I pursued and graduated from Georgia College & State University with a Bachelor of Science of Nursing (BSN) degree and received an award for my outstanding clinical skills. I started my nursing career at the Medical Center of Central Georgia (a Level 1 Trauma Hospital) in Macon, Georgia, as a Nurse Extern in the Cardiac Step-Down Unit. After completing additional Critical Care Nursing classes, I accepted my first Registered Nurse (RN) position in the Medical-Surgical Intensive Care Unit. I continued to work in Intensive Care units, like Parkridge East Hospital ICU, Infusion Clinics, and have worked as a travel nurse. I have also had the opportunity to teach college for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program and have served as a graduate Clinical Instructor for future Nurse Practitioners, at a university in Georgia. I understand the importance of equipping students with the skills to be great patient-focused nurses and I believe in the importance of educating patients to the best of my ability to help them make better choices about their own health. After deciding to pursue graduate training to become a Nurse Practitioner, I attended Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, TN, where I was awarded a Master of Science degree in Nursing, (MSN) with a concentration as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Following graduation, I accepted a position in Middle Georgia as a Family Nurse Practitioner and I have enjoyed providing excellent patient care and patient education ever since. After residing there for a few years, my family decided that they missed the mountains and nature beauty of this area and we decided to move back. I currently reside in Dade County, Georgia, with my husband and my daughter, Natalie Rose. In my leisure time, I enjoy entertaining, flower arranging, scrap-booking, sewing, and spending time with my family.
